2. Scope
This notice applies to the public Talana information website. It does not describe data processing within a Talana app.
The website has no customer accounts, checkout or sign-up form for a newsletter or waiting list. The launch buttons only open information. No registration details are collected.
The page does not receive measurements or health data from a ring or an app. The app section currently shows a placeholder for a view with sample ring data.
3. Hosting and technical requests
This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. (USA) and delivered through its worldwide network. When you visit, Netlify processes technical connection and request data, including your IP address, the requested address, the time, browser and device information, and the response status. This processing enables website delivery, troubleshooting and protection against attacks.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to provide this website securely and reliably. The technical data needed to handle your request is transmitted automatically; the website cannot be delivered without it.
Netlify keeps technical request logs for a limited period. The period available in the Netlify dashboard depends on the plan. Further information about the technical data recorded and its availability is provided in Netlify’s request logging documentation.
Providing the service may involve processing data in the USA. Netlify states that it is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Its published Data Processing Agreement (DPA) provides for this framework for relevant transfers and EU Standard Contractual Clauses where the framework does not apply. Further information is available in Netlify’s privacy notice.
Fonts, images and styling files are delivered with this website. The page code does not embed external analytics tools, advertising pixels, video players or maps. Your language is not selected automatically from your IP address or location. You choose it using the “DE” and “EN” links.
4. Cookies and browser storage
The website’s code does not set cookies or save information in local storage or session storage. No analytics or marketing services are embedded. Selection states, such as the displayed ring variant, are only used to display the open page.
Your browser may cache website files or record the visit in its history. This is controlled by your browser settings.
An email or phone link opens your configured application only when you select it. The website itself does not send a message or automatically contact us.
5. Contacting us
If you contact us by email, phone or post, we process the contact details you provide, the content of your enquiry and the related correspondence to respond to you. This information may be accessible to the people handling your enquiry and to the communication and IT service providers used for this purpose.
If your enquiry concerns a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, we rely on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our interest in handling incoming enquiries appropriately.
Contacting us is voluntary. Without a way to contact you and the information needed to handle your enquiry, we may be unable to respond.
6. Retention of enquiries
Enquiries and correspondence are deleted when the matter has been fully resolved and further retention is no longer necessary. Where statutory retention obligations apply or documents are needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, further retention depends on those obligations or the continuing need. Retention required by law is based on Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
7. Your rights
Where we process your personal data, you have the following rights in particular, subject to the applicable legal conditions:
- Access to information about the processing of your personal data (Article 15 GDPR).
- Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data (Article 16 GDPR).
- Erasure of your data (Article 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR).
- Data portability, where processing is automated and based on consent or a contract (Article 20 GDPR).
- Withdrawal of consent at any time for future processing, where processing is based on consent. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn (Article 7(3) GDPR).
Your right to object
You may object at any time to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR on grounds relating to your particular situation (Article 21 GDPR). We will then stop processing the data concerned unless overriding compelling legitimate grounds apply or the processing is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Complaints to a supervisory authority
Under Article 77 GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. The Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA) is responsible for private companies based in Bavaria.
This website does not use decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects, including profiling of that kind.
8. Future services
If we later offer a shop, a sign-up service or a connected Talana app, we will add notices describing the services and data flows actually used. These services are currently not active on this website.
